Senior Cortex & eMcRey Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cortex & eMcRey Developer with 5+ yrs experience in payment systems, electronic funds transfer (EFT) switching, and financial software engineering. In this specialized technical role, you will lead the Customization and Integration of Cortex platforms while delivering comprehensive support for all eMcRey products across the transaction processing lifecycle. The candidate must submit an up-to-date Developer CV demonstrating direct experience with Cortex configurations and eMcRey product implementations.

Key Responsibilities

Customization and Integration of Cortex

• Lead the end-to-end technical configuration, Customization and Integration of Cortex for credit, debit, and prepaid card issuing, authorization, and processing workflows.

• Configure and program the Cortex rules engine to enforce business logic, authorization parameters, risk scoring models, fee structures, and commission algorithms.

• Build, maintain, and optimize secure interface protocols and middleware connecting Cortex with Core Banking Systems (CBS), payment switches, and external payment gateways.

• Develop custom software extensions, batch processing scripts, and database utilities to extend baseline application functions.

Support for eMcRey Products

• Delivered comprehensive support for all eMcRey products, including card management modules, payment switching tools, and integration components.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex tier-3 technical incidents, authorization drops, message routing failures, and settlement discrepancies across eMcRey software.

• Perform routine system health checks, performance tuning, capacity planning, and database optimizations across core payment environments.

• Manage software updates, application patching, database scripts, and failover/disaster recovery procedures.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ yrs experience working as a dedicated Developer, Cortex Specialist, or Payment Systems Engineer.

• Hands-on track record in the Customization and Integration of Cortex payment processing platforms and rules engines.

• Proven background having delivered comprehensive support for all eMcRey products and associated payment software suites.

• Strong familiarity with international financial messaging formats including ISO 8583 and ISO 20022.

• Advanced technical proficiency in relational database scripting and management (PL/SQL, T-SQL).

• Solid programming capability using core application development languages (C/C++, Java, or C# / .NET) alongside shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell).

• CV Requirement: Submission of a detailed Developer CV highlighting direct project deployments involving Cortex and eMcRey products.

Core Technical Competencies

• Platform Expertise: Deep functional and technical knowledge of Cortex and the eMcRey product suite.

• Integration Protocols: Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, TCP/IP socket communication, and middleware message brokers.

• Payment Security Standards: Understanding of Hardware Security Modules (HSM), EMV transaction processing, PIN encryption, and PCI-DSS compliance.

• Diagnostic Skills: Proven ability to inspect transaction logs, parse network payloads, and perform real-time system debugging.
