Senior Exchange Administrator

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Exchange Server & Office 365 Administrator with 7–10 years of professional expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a technical authority in Microsoft Exchange Server On-Premise and Office 365 cloud environments. You will lead critical projects including Hybrid Migrations, High Availability (HA) design, and enterprise-level Security & Compliance frameworks. This role requires a seasoned professional capable of driving technical excellence, mentoring teams, and ensuring the seamless operation of global mail systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. On-Premise Exchange Infrastructure

  • Lead the end-to-end Installation & Configuration of Exchange Server versions 2013, 2016, and 2019.
  • Design, implement, and manage Exchange DAG (Database Availability Group) to ensure High Availability (HA) and disaster recovery.
  • Oversee Exchange Database Management, including regular Health Checkups and performance optimization.
  • Manage critical Database Backup & Restore operations to guarantee data integrity and availability.
  • Execute routine Patching of Exchange CU (Cumulative Updates), SU (Security Updates), and HU (Hotfix Updates).
  • Configure and troubleshoot Send/Receive Connectors for secure internal and external mail routing.
  • Facilitate Application Integration with Exchange Server to support various business tools and services.

2. Cloud & Hybrid Operations

  • Expertly manage Exchange Migrations (e.g., transitioning from Exchange 2013 to 2016 or 2019).
  • Administer Office 365 and Exchange Online environments, including tenant management and user licensing.
  • Support and troubleshoot Hybrid Migrations, ensuring seamless mailbox moves between on-premises and the cloud.
  • Manage identity synchronization and federation using Azure AD Connect.
  • Oversee legacy migrations, such as Lotus-to-Exchange or Lotus-to-O365, while maintaining legacy server services.

3. Advanced Troubleshooting & Security

  • Resolve complex Mail Flow issues involving SMTP, DNS, SPF, DKIM, and DLP.
  • Troubleshoot Outlook configuration (POP, IMAP, Autodiscover) and OneDrive synchronization applications.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools including Fiddler, SARA, Event Viewer, Kibana, and Log Parser.
  • Implement and audit security protocols such as TLS, SSL, and Security & Compliance Center policies.

4. Automation & Technical Leadership

  • Develop and maintain complex PowerShell scripts for the Automation of administrative tasks.
  • Act as a Technical Lead, mentoring junior engineers and delegating assignments to meet project milestones.
  • Coordinate with Microsoft Support via the 0365 Admin Portal for escalated technical cases.
  • Document system architectures, RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports, and operational best practices.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: 7–10 years of hands-on experience in Exchange Server (2013/2016/2019) and Office 365 administration.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Deep proficiency in Exchange DAG, Mailbox Migrations, and Transport Rules.
    • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policies.
    • Strong experience in server maintenance, including SQL Server Management and System Monitoring.
  • Automation: Advanced capability in PowerShell for infrastructure management.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional Leadership, stakeholder communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Certifications: Microsoft 365 Certified (e.g., MS-203 or MS-700).
  • Tooling: Familiarity with ServiceNow, CRM solutions, and ITIL frameworks.
  • Collaboration Tools: Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Skype for Business, or Lync.
