VMWare Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled VMware Specialist with a strong background in virtualization technologies and data center operations to join our team on a full-time, onsite basis in Saudi Arabia for a leading government ministry. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of hands-on experience in managing, implementing, and troubleshooting VMware environments in large-scale enterprise settings. This role requires a dedicated professional with excellent technical acumen, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to maintain high levels of security and operational efficiency across virtualized infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

• VMware Environment Management:
• • Administer and manage VMware infrastructures including ESXi hosts, vCenter servers, clusters, and virtual machines.
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of virtualized environments ensuring high availability, scalability, and robust performance.
  • Perform regular system health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning to optimize virtual infrastructure resources.
• Implementation and Upgrades:
• • Lead the planning and execution of VMware upgrades, patches, and migrations while ensuring minimal downtime and service interruption.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate VMware solutions with existing systems and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and backup strategies for virtual environments.
• Security and Compliance:
• • Implement and monitor security policies and procedures to protect virtualized assets against vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant government and industry regulations, including data protection and privacy standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to maintain system integrity and safeguard sensitive data.
• Troubleshooting and Support:
• • Provide expert-level troubleshooting support for VMware-related issues including performance bottlenecks, system errors, and connectivity problems.
  • Create detailed documentation on system configurations, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges and maintain optimal system performance.
• Project Management and Collaboration:
• • Manage and participate in projects aimed at expanding and enhancing the virtual infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and holistic system management.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior IT staff on VMware best practices and emerging trends.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• A minimum of 5+ years of dedicated experience in managing VMware environments within large-scale enterprise or governmental settings.
• Demonstrable expertise in the design, deployment, and management of VMware infrastructures.
• Extensive hands-on experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, and related virtualization technologies.
• Strong understanding of data center operations, networking, storage integration, and virtualization security.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, capable of working independently and as part of a larger IT team.

Mandatory Certification:

• VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) is required for this role.
• Additional certifications such as VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) are considered advantageous and will further strengthen your application.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in VMware virtualization technologies including ESXi, vCenter, and vSphere.
• Strong skills in infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Experience with automation and orchestration tools relevant to virtual environments (e.g., PowerCLI, vRealize).
• Solid understanding of networking protocols, storage technologies (SAN/NAS), and disaster recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with scripting languages and automation frameworks to streamline operational tasks.

Location and Availability:

• Onsite Requirement: This position is based in Saudi Arabia and requires the candidate to be available onsite.
• IQAMA Transferable: The candidate must possess a valid, transferrable IQAMA to meet local employment requirements.
